WATERCOLOR INN
by Paula Hughes Court

The Beaches of South Walton, a collection of 13 beach communities
stretching along Scenic Highway 30-A between Destin, Florida and Inlet
Beach has been a favorite family beach destination for many years. In the
past, accommodations were limited to vacation rental condos, houses and
a few small hotels.  All that has changed with the recent arrival of the
highly-acclaimed WaterColor Inn, a small 60-room gulf-front boutique hotel
located just west of Seaside.

A member of the elite group, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the
Watercolor Inn invokes memories of an elegant Southern coastal resort.
Architect David Rockwell designed the Inn to blend into the natural setting
of hilly dunes and sugar-white sand by using traditional "cracker"
architecture. Other whimsical touches include custom-made adirondack
chairs lining the teak wood porch and room balconies.

GUESTROOMS AT WATERCOLOR INN
All guestrooms enjoy beach-views, private balcony or patio, king bed with
queen sleeper sofa, oversized walk-in shower room with high-windowed
views out to the ocean, ceiling fans, mini-bar, coffee-maker, 2-line speaker
phones, high-speed internet access, cable television, business desk and
electronic safes. Rotunda King and Rotunda King Suites feature
180-degree views of the emerald green Gulf of Mexico while six
ground-floor rooms feature private canvas-enclosed outdoor showers.

WATERCOLOR INN AMENITIES
Other amenities include twice-daily houskeeping service, conciege service,
complimentary continental breakfast, in-room dining and bar service, a
fully-equipped workout facility, massage and body treatments, gift shop,
library, game table, heated gulf-front swimming pool and hot tub. Guests of
the Inn receive complimentary access to the WaterColor BeachClub
offering a pool deck, children's pool and complimentary use of boogie
boards, Hobie kayaks, surfing kayaks, beach volleyball and snorkel
equipment. Golfers also enjoy priority tee times at the Tom Fazio-designed
Camp Creek Golf Club six miles east of WaterColor. A daily children's
program is offered year round.

DINING
Don't miss an opportunity to dine at the Inn's signature restaurant, "Fish
Out of Water", the newest entry into the extraordinary group of gourmet
restaurants scattered along Scenic Highway 30-A. The talented chef, Jason
Brumm, formerly of the popular Cafe 30-A uses Southern ingredients and
fresh seafood from local waters in non-traditional dishes.

A sample menu may include an appetizer of Braised Kobe Beef Short Ribs
with Black truffle grits or Tuna Tartar served on Avocado sorbet with
sesame "chopsticks." Salad selections include Prosciutto Quail Salad
served with figs, goat cheese and spiced caramelized honey vinaigrette
and Jim Whitackers Arugula Salad of grilled pear vinaigrette, buttermilk
blue cheese and honey roasted walnuts.

Many main course selections arrive freshly-caught from local waters. Low
country shrimp and scallops with creamy grits or Thai Style Grouper served
with crab mango spring rolls and lobster coconut broth are a few of the
many seafood selections on the extensive menu.

Fish Out of Water is open nightly at 5:00. Sushi Happy Hour is from 5pm to
7pm, seven days a week. 850.534.5050.
