VAIL SKI RESORT
Vail is a beautiful world famous ski resort nestled in the
heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and surrounded
by 10,000-foot peaks. Recently, Vail has had more

Adventure Ridge
You can play all day and well into the night at Adventure
Ridge with ski bikes, snowmobile tours, ice-skating and
tubing. For information, call (970) 476-9090. Ride the
Eagle Bahn Gondola FREE after 2 p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday. Enjoy great food and views at the Blue Moon
Restaurant.
VAIL VILLAGE
Bavarian-style village with restaurants, coffee shops and
art galleries. Here you will want to spend some time
strolling and shopping. This village is the central access
point for on-mountain activities. Vail Village offers a wide
array of lodging accommodations all just a short walk to
the two chair lifts.
Lionshead Village
A pedestrian mall located about 3/4 mile west of Vail
Village with shops, restaurants, lodges and the Vail
Valley's only gondola - The Eagle Bahn. The gondola is
the fastest and most comfortable way to Vail Mountain.
West Vail
2 miles from Vail Mountain, West Vail has several
restaurants, shops, lodging and supermarkets. The free
Shuttle service runs throughout West Vail and takes
skiers to the village chairlifts.
East Vail
A very scenic residential neighborhood surrounded by the
White River National Forest offering snowshoeing,
cross-country skiing and ice climbing. East Vail is 5 miles
from Vail's two village areas where chair lifts and the
gondola can be accessed.
Vail Mountain Winter Activities
Vail Mountain is the largest single mountain in North
America with 5,289 acres and 34 lifts. It offers gentle
slopes for beginners as well as sculpted corduroy
cruisers, moguls, bowls and glades.
Skiing and Snowboarding - Cross-country trips
into the national forest guides. Lodging provided.
Snowmobile Tours -Tours into the White River
National Forest offered by local guides. Tours are
from three to six hours with gear and transportation
provided.
Snowshoe Rentals - Guided tours available at the
Vail Nordic Center.
Dogsledding - A sled pulled by a team of dogs
takes you through the breathtaking scenery of the
national forest. Tours are four hours and include a
snack.
Indoor and Outdoor Ice-Skating - Available daily,
weather permitting. For perfect ice, Dobson Ice
Arena in Vail offers in-door public skating sessions.
Sleigh rides - Can be enjoyed with the entire family
along with a wonderful dinner.
Snow Cat Tour - A great way to see nature and
wildlife. Local companies offer tours.
Sledding Meadow Mountain - A fifteen-minute
drive west of Vail is the local sledding hot spot!
GETTING TO VAIL
Book your flight to Denver International Airport - the
main airport to which people from all over the world
arrive to enjoy their Rocky Mountain vacation. If you
are driving from Denver, take I-70 West
approximately 100 miles. As you make your way
through the Rockies, you will view some of the most
spectacular mountain scenery ever imagined!
