SUN VALLEY SKI RESORT
Since the 1930’s skiers have been drawn to the slopes of the
majestic peaks of the Rockies in
Sun Valley, Idaho. Nestled in the
beautiful Sawtooth Mountains,
Sun Valley, Idaho is perfect for a
winter vacation. Readers of Ski Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, and
Gourmet magazines voted Sun Valley the #1 ski resort in
the country.

Referred to as the “Grand Dame” of skiing in America,
Sun Valley
has the distinction of being America’s first destination ski resort.
Sun Valley, Idaho has long been known as a playground for well-to-
do skiers and the rich and famous such as Clint Eastwood, Paul
Newman, and Brook Shields.

Sun Valley, Idaho offers great accommodations, restaurants,
shops, golf courses, world-class ice shows, a skateboard park and
hot springs. There are over 100 miles of groomed cross-country ski
trails and skating lanes in the area. Two cross-
country ski centers in Ketchum and Sun Valley are complimented by
two more in the Sawtooth National Recreation Center to the north.

Sun Valley boasts two well-known and excellent ski and ride
mountains. Many skiers consider Baldy the nation's best ski
mountain and Dollar is a beginner's dream with gentle, perfectly
groomed slopes. Bald Mountain is considered to offer some of the
best and most challenging skiing in the country in its 3,400 vertical
feet of ski runs. "Baldy" is known for its constant pitch
enabling skiers to ski smoothly all the way down.  Another reason
Sun Valley continues to rank at the top in ski resorts is that the
number and speed of lifts result in shorter lines. Seventeen
lifts have the capacity to carry 28,180 people per hour. The ski
season typically runs from November/December to March/April.
