STEAMBOAT SKI RESORT ACCOMODATIONS
1. RENT A CONDO OR RENTAL HOUSE INSTEAD OF A HOTEL
ROOM. Steamboat condo prices run slightly higher than hotel
rooms, but over a week’s stay you’ll save big on meal expenses. A
family of four can easily save $25 or more by eating breakfast at the
condo and even more at lunch.
2. BRING ALONG ANOTHER FAMILY TO SPLIT THE CONDO
COST. Three and four bedroom town homes can be rented for
approximately the same cost as a nice one-bedroom condo. Bring
along friends or another family to split the accommodation cost.
3. CONSIDER RENTING BY OWNER. Many Steamboat condo
owners rent “by owner”, meaning you’ll save an average of 25%.
This is the normal percentage charged by rental management
companies to “rent” individual condos. Plus, many management
companies are now tacking on additional cleaning fees, extra
deposits, etc. The downside to renting by owner is that most do not
accept credit cards and may not be able to respond quickly to
maintenance issues. There are several reputable websites listing
condos for rent by owner, including www.vrbo.com and www.
greatrentals.com.

4. DINE OUT BETWEEN 5 P.M. AND 6 P.M.- Many Steamboat
restaurants offer two-for-one specials between this time period.
Check the local paper and the free newspapers for special offers
and coupons.
5. EAT OUT FOR LUNCH INSTEAD OF DINNER. Most Steamboat
restaurants offer lunch specials at half the price of their dinners.
Also be aware the wait to get into restaurants at night during the
busy season can be quite long.
6. CHOOSE A HOTEL OFFERING FREE BREAKFAST-If you stay in
a hotel, chose one that offers free breakfast so you can fill up
before hitting the slopes.

7. VISIT STEAMBOAT DURING THE OFF-SEASON-The best deals
can be found around Thanksgiving, early December, January and
April. Exact dates for Value Season are Nov. 24 – Dec. 19, 2004
Jan. 4 – Feb. 16, 2004, Apr. 3 – Apr. 10, 2005. Peak season is
February 19-April 2nd.
8. VISIT STEAMBOAT MID-WEEK-If you visit mid-week you’ll miss
most of the crowds and you’ll save money since the price of
everything from lodging to lift tickets drops during the week.
9. BUY A STEAMBOAT SEASON PASS-Steamboat’s Season Pass
offers unrestricted all-mountain skiing and riding throughout the
season with the exception of Scholarship Day, November 24, 2004,
the opening day tradition benefiting the Steamboat Springs Winter
Sports Club. In addition, when a parent purchases a full price
Steamboat Season Pass, one child (12 and under) is eligible to
receive a FREE Season Pass. Very few ski resorts offer this level of
value for families.
10. BUY A STEAMBOAT SUPER VALLUE PASS-Super Value
Passes offer a variety of pricing packages for 20, 15 and 10 days
throughout the entire season with no restrictions. The Super Value
Pass consists of three bundled elements: direct-to-lift, pre-
purchase access for 10, 15 or 20-days; special $19/day tickets
during early and late value seasons and Free Friday Afternoon
tickets during early and late value seasons. Kids Ski Free™ does
not apply with the Super Value Pass program.
Value Season Dates: Early Value Season runs from November 25-
December 19, 2004 and Late Value Season is from April 3-10,
2005.
The direct-to-lift units can be used any day of the season and offer
skiing/riding for as low as $39.90/day for the 10-Day Super Value
Pass; $35.93/day for the 15-Day Super Value Pass and $31.95/day
for the 20-Day Super Value Pass if purchased during early season.
In addition, the Super Value Pass features the option to purchase
one-day tickets for $19 in lieu of using one of the 10, 15 or 20 direct-
to-lift units during early and late value seasons. A limited number of
the special tickets are available for purchase with 10-Day Super
Value Pass holders eligible to buy five additional $19 days and 15-
Day and 20-Day Super Value Pass holders eligible to buy ten
additional $19 days.
Free Friday Afternoon tickets have the same start time as the resort’
s regular half-day tickets, 12:00pm. There are four Fridays in the
early season, and one Friday in the spring season, for a total of five
Free Fridays. Super Value Pass holders are limited to one Free
Friday Afternoon ticket per eligible Friday.
