SEDONA VACATIONS
Start your family vacation this year by viewing the scenic
sandstone cliffs surrounding Sedona Arizona. Only 1-
1/2 hours from Phoenix and 2 hours from the Grand
Canyon, Sedona is located at the lower end of Arizona's
spectacular Oak Creek Canyon, renowned for its
stunning red buttes and monoliths. At the center of
Arizona’s Red Rock Country, Sedona has much to offer
visitors with its breath-taking panoramas and mild
seasons. Highway 89A through Oak Creek Canyon was
Arizona's first designated Scenic Highway and was
named by Rand-McNally as one of the most beautiful
drives in America. The Red Rock Country in Sedona,
Arizona was named the Most Beautiful Place in America
by The USA Weekend’s Annual Travel Report.
The core industry here is tourism with four million
visitors each year. Surrounded by magnificent red rock
formations, Sedona offers world-class resorts,
restaurants, inns, 40 galleries and hundreds of unique
shops. Sedona is an upscale retirement community
with a mild climate and beautiful scenery. At an altitude
of 4,500', this area escapes the desert heat of Southern
Arizona and the mountain snows to the north.
Because of Sedona’s climate, activities such as
sightseeing, hiking, golf and tennis can be enjoyed
almost year-round. Many choose to take a jeep ride into
the backcountry or view red rock monoliths from
horseback or hot air balloons. After you have visited
Sedona, Red Rock and Slide Rock State Parks, you will
want to make sure to see the Grand Canyon, Meteor
Crater, Sunset Crater, Indian ruins and Native American
Reservations.

running nature show. The remote wilderness of the

clear azure skies. Though it is possible to hike the
canyon, the most comfortable and entertaining way to
experience it is by riding the rails of the Verde Canyon
Railroad. The Railroad Depot has a cafe, gift store, and
mini museum all for your convenience and enjoyment.
