NORTHSTAR SKI RESORT-LAKE TAHOE
Northstar-at-Tahoe is an all-season, family-oriented
destination resort six miles from the north shore of Lake
Tahoe. Mount Pluto and Lookout Mountain offer 70 trails
covering 2,420 acres of downhill variety ranging from
gentle bowls to long, steeper runs serviced by a modern
network of lifts to get you up the mountain fast.

Northstar at Tahoe is a great resort but there are plans
in the near future for much improvement. Northstar's
original vision of creating one of the finest mountain
villages in North America has started to become reality.
The resort broke ground on the new Village at Northstar
on April 18, 2004. Plans are for a new ski-in, ski-out
village at the base of the slopes, offering luxurious
condominiums surrounding a natural focal point of
activity. This will feature a traditional outdoor ice rink, fire
pits and cafés. The shops and restaurants will attract
many visitors to the area. The new village will also help
complete the vision at Northstar by helping to launch a
new vision for Tahoe Mountain Resorts, soon-to-be
North America's finest four-season resort experience.
Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center prides itself on being the
only full destination ski resort in the Tahoe area to offer
complete track, skating and telemark services for all
ability levels as well as a professionally certified ski
school. There are 50 km of cross-country trails and
skating lanes with sweeping Sierra Nevada views.

Accommodations range from condominiums to hotel-style
units to spacious mountain homes with some slopeside
rentals available. All rentals are within minutes of the
chairlifts and are serviced by a free shuttle system. More
than 10,000 beds within a 15-mile radius in Truckee,
North Tahoe and Incline Village.
Snowmaking at Northstar-at-Tahoe
Largest snowmaking system of any resort on the North
Shore thanks to a $2.5 million snowmaking upgrade in
2001-2002. Snowmaking from top to bottom of Mt. Pluto,
front side, backside, and Lookout Mountain with 50
percent of runs and 2,280 vertical feet covered by
machine-made snow. 220 acres of coverage (89
hectares). Snowmaking on the superpipe, halfpipe and
terrain parks.
