Laos is now open to travellers again! Check out the entry requirements and our reopening special offer

Laos Reopens to Tourists Following COVID

The Laos government has announced that, effective from Monday 9 May, the country will reopen to fully vaccinated travellers. The entry requirements to enter Laos are now as follows:

  • Fully vaccinated travellers must produce evidence of vaccination. We strongly recommend a printed hard copy vaccination certificate as soft copies on mobile electronic devices may not be accepted
  • There is no mandatory insurance; however we strongly recommend all travellers have adequate travel insurance that covers treatment for Covid-19
  • Visa on arrival has been reinstated at certain entry points including international airports. Visas can also be obtained prior to arrival via a local Lao Embassy or online
  • A pre-arrival Covid-19 test is not required
  • Travellers are not required to undergo any Covid-19 testing OR quarantine on arrival or during their stay
  • There is no need to apply for any travel passes or to register any travel details prior to arrival
