MINNEAPOLIS
Known as "The City of Lakes," Minneapolis has 22 lakes located
within city limits and many more in the surrounding area. It is a
beautiful city of gleaming skyscrapers set amid glittering lakes.
Downtown Minneapolis is a great place to take a stroll during any
season. Here you will find many fine stores, more than 30
theaters, two world-class art museums and three professional
sports teams.
Minneapolis is a city with many great activities for the entire family.
Much of downtown is connected by a system of covered second-
story skyways which help keep the city running even during the
frigid temperatures of the winter months. Average temperatures in
December are 18 degrees and 12 degrees in January. During the
warmer months, locals and tourists skate or stroll around Lake
Calhoun. Fort Snelling State Park offers outdoor recreational
activities such as hiking, golf, biking and boating.

is the largest in the United States with more than 500 stores and
an amusement park that covers seven-acres. There is also an
aquarium and a 15-screen movie complex. The Mall of America is
more an attraction than a shopping center as it has more visitors
than Disney World, Graceland and the Grand Canyon combined.

history as you view more than 80,000 works of sculpture,
photography, paintings, drawings and prints.

small lake filled with an odd assortment of birds.
The Minnesota Zoo – located in Apple Valley south of the Mall of
America. The second biggest zoo in the United States, the

it. A bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore now stands across the
street from the IDS.

shop.
