ASPEN SKI RESORTS
Aspen is located approximately 215 miles southwest
of Denver, Colorado. This cozy town is situated at
the base of the Aspen Mountain Ski Area allowing
quick access to the slopes by the Silver Queen
Gondola. Shoppers and tourists will discover
several boutiques and galleries in this charming
town with its Victorian architecture and cobblestone
streets. Aspen offers an abundance of gourmet
restaurants, coffeehouses and the famous “Crystal
Palace” within walking distance of many of the
condominiums, lodges and inns. There are many
great places to stay in Aspen from bed and
breakfasts to rustic lodges and condominiums.
Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain is geared toward advanced skiers
with over 3,200 vertical feet on 700 skiable acres.
This is home to the annual World Cup races at
Thanksgiving and is known for its groomed
intermediate runs and expert steeps and bumps
terrain. Aspen Mountain is famous for its world-class
skiing, exciting nightlife and incredible vistas. There
is little wonder why Aspen remains the favorite ski
resort among the rich and famous.
During the winter season, skiing, snowboarding,
snow shoeing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and
sleigh rides make Aspen the ideal setting for family
vacations or corporate retreats. Ski season offers
four mountains with over 4,800 acres of skiable
terrain - Aspen/Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen
Highlands, and Buttermilk. One lift ticket will gain
entrance to all of them. Buttermilk Mountain, located
a few miles out of Aspen, is a favorite of beginner
and low intermediate skiers who enjoy wide slopes
and perfectly groomed runs. Highlands Mountain
just a couple of miles away has many intermediate
runs and some extreme skiing. Snowmass is a very
large mountain complex offering many ski-in/ski-out
accommodations and other vacation rentals.
Amenities include high speed lifts and a great ski
school program. Experience all four ski areas within
a 12-mile radius and linked by a free shuttle bus
transportation system so you do not need to rent a
car.
