Travel Guide for First-Timers - To help those new to cruise vacations
while attracting a new set of customers to the fun and excitement of
cruising, American Express Travel has introduced a new webpage
helping nautical novices interested in taking their first cruise. The
webpage, located at www.americanexpress.com/newcruiser, explains
the basics of traveling by ship, and details notable on-board activities,
top destinations and alluring shore excursions for popular ports of call.
The new webpage houses videos and photos and also includes tips
on how to choose the most suitable accommodations and ship size,
packing tips, and what amenities to expect from various cruise
experiences. Travelers can either book online or choose the “click to
chat” feature that puts consumers in direct, real-time communication
with a dedicated American Express Travel cruise specialist.
Expansion of American Express Travel’s Popular Mariner Club
Program – The American Express Mariner Club program provides
access to special cruise benefits, services and amenities for any
American Express Travel cruise customer who asks to participate in
the free program. Through the program, customers get access to
competitive cruise fares, complimentary customized shoreside

Cruises and Windstar Cruises.
New Unique, Exclusive Cruise Vacation for Platinum Card members
- A new cruise vacation is currently available through American
Express’ Platinum Travel Service featuring its prestigious Fine Hotels
& Resorts program and Cunard’s legendary Queen Mary 2. Through
May 15, Platinum Card members can book a trans-Atlantic crossing
between New York and London book-ended by stays in New York’s
luxurious Jumeirah Essex House on Central Park and London’s posh
The Metropolitan on ritzy Park Lane.
In between, travelers enjoy one of the most elegant cruises in the
world. The six-night oceanic crossing aboard the luxurious Queen
Mary 2, with its tastefully decorated staterooms and meals that unfold
with pageantry, is testament to Cunard’s personalized White Star
Service. Glamour takes center stage at “Royal Nights” balls. The
AquaTherapy Centre of the exclusive Canyon Ranch SpaClub®
pampers passengers in style. Talks by prominent authors and
presentations by actors from London’s acclaimed Royal Academy of
Dramatic Art provide cultural pursuits, as do wine tastings, art classes
and cooking demonstrations.
Exclusively for Platinum Card members, the vacation provides free
amenities including a shipboard credit of up to $600, an exclusive
embarkation and a welcome bottle of wine. In New York and London,
the vacation provides for extra special amenities at both hotels –
above and beyond even those provided by the Fine Hotels & Resorts
program, which include a room upgrade upon arrival, when available,
a continental breakfast for two each day, a convenient late check-out
time of 4 p.m. and a special amenity that varies at each hotel and
resort. Travelers also can earn up to 25,000 Membership Rewards®
bonus points.
Cruise Facts and Figures - According to a recent poll of its travel
agents, American Express Travel found that cruising continues to be
