On the first weekend of each May, Amelia Island hosts the "Isle of Eight
Flags Shrimp Festival." Festival attractions include boiled, fried, peeled
and gumbo shrimp, live entertainment,  and over 300 exhibitors of fine
arts
and crafts.

Amelia Island Restaurants
Sliders  - New interior design with "island style" flair.  Menu offers a wide
variety to please most diners, including a children's menu.

Sandy Bottoms - A very casual restaurant on the beach with outdoor patio
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  Live music most nights.

The Surf - Extremely casual "surf-type" eatery located across the street
from the ocean offering pizza, seafood, steaks and more.

Down Under - Tucked away under the Shave Bridge off A1A, on the
Intracoastal Waterway - very casual restaurant offering a variety of
seafood,
including local shrimp.

Verandah – One of the best restaurants on the island for seafood lovers.

Amelia Island Beaches
One of the best beach spots is the wide beachfront on the south-end of
the island. Also, Peter's Point, on South Fletcher Avenue has a public
park with a large parking area, restrooms, outdoor showers, and picnic
tables. Main Beach Park has Beachside concessions and a waterside.

Amelia Island Accommodations
Amelia Island Plantation - Large luxury resort with fun activities for the
entire family. Daily activities including games, contests, crafts and clinics.
From award-winning kids' camp to poolside activities, there is something
for all ages.  For teens, there are activities such as mini golf, bowling,

Historic buildings such as the Palace Saloon Dinner Theater, the Florida

Amelia Island Plantation Nature Center Programs - An educational
center designed to teach all ages about the world around them in a fun
way.

Amelia Island Museum of History - 4,000 years of Amelia Island's
incredible history.

Amelia Island Lighthouse-Located at the entrance of Fort Clinch State
Park, the lighthouse is visible 19 miles out to sea.

Amelia Island State Park - 200 acres of undeveloped sea island to
explore. Good place to see rare wildlife such as right whale or piping
plover.  Also a mile long fishing bridge.

Amelia Island Golfing
Amelia Island has earned a wonderful reputation for its golf courses.
